Great Lakes Energy “Rounding Up”
The People Fund is supported solely
by Great Lakes Energy members who allow their electric cooperative to round up
their bill each month to the next dollar. Since 1999 more than $2 million
dollars in grants have been awarded to charitable and community organizations
throughout Great Lakes Energy’s 26-county service area, that stretches from
Kalamazoo to the Mackinac Straits.
The
People Fund is made possible by the generosity of members who contribute a few
cents each month by rounding-up their bill.
Non-profit community organizations are encouraged to apply so that the
funds can be put to good use in local service areas.
Non-profit
organizations can apply for a grant through the People Fund by downloading the
application from their website at gtlakes.com or by calling Great Lakes Energy, 1-888-485-2537,
ext. 1313.
“All you need is love. But
a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt
